The Call
He was not ready to give everything. He had a list of things to do before he died, and those would not be accomplished if he accepted God’s calling for his life. He asked for more time, of which he chose to take advantage. Thousands more died daily, and he died to the selfishness of his heart. He was not ready to give up his life for Christ’s sake. The cross looked too heavy to bear. And it was. Hundreds of voices called out daily for them to be rescued, but he was too busy in his own life, in his own comfort zone. He would soon be responsible.
The lives now tolled to be in the hundreds of thousands, yet still no reply. He was too busy in his own life, a fact that caused them to lose their lives.
He was now ready, but it was too late to save those who had died earlier. How could they have known that Jesus was the only way? He was the one called, but he never preached. How could they hear without a preacher? They couldn’t, and they never heard the gospel. How could they hear unless someone was sent? He was, but he chose to disobey God’s call.
"Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?' And I said, 'Here am I. Send me!'" Isaiah 6:8
